Just wondering if any former Vq-5 ES-3A drivers are at CAL or any other majors?
Translation: "Any former Vq-5 ES-3A drivers at CAL that will give me a LOR, even though you don't know me, but because I flew those too in the military and that is what military pilots do for each other so we can get hired at the majors right away..." :D

Did it ever cross your mind that he might be searching for people whom he actually knew and has lost track of...

Major air carriers don't put a lot of weight on recomendations from folks that didn't know you, and even less weight on recomendations from people who lie...

Bravo to you, Navydude, for trying to network...sorry about the whole S-3 thing...

Translation "Anybody in the navy in a squadron that i was once a member of and decided not to keep track of anyone because either you didn't like me or i didn't like you.. but now i need a lor and i'm willing to be your friend."

Hey, at least we we know we had certain physical, educational, and psychological standards to get past. I'll take that over a "He was a former CFI drinking buddy who was too fat, dumb, and lazy to join the military."
