I have some airport friendly shoes now but would like to get a pair of Docs if they are airport friendly. Does anyone know if they have any that are airport friendly. Thanks.

...

Rockport makes a nice pair of black slip on loafers that wont set off an airport alarm, and are nice and comfortable, feel like a pair of running shoes. Doc Martens look silly with the uniform (i am assuming your wearing them with a uniform, etc). I never understood the draw to doc's? I figure i'd never wear them with a suit to the office if i worked in one, so why would i wear 'em with an airline uniform.

I actually have the Rockport Slip-ons that are airport friendly. I love them. They are VERY comfortable. I also have a pair of the DEER STAG Tribunes which are ok, I really prefer the rockports over the DEER STAGS, the rockports are just an all around better shoe and will last longer. I'm just looking to change it up a bit w/ the Docs.

I think there are a pair of Doc's that make it through the checkpoint, but you will have to put your mullet on the belt and have it x-rayed.

I've got a pair of 5 eye Oxfords by the good DR. and they are airport friendly. Taking off shoes everyday is a major pain in the a$$, so anything to make security quicker is nice....

Of course it's a bitch to break in a new pair of Doc's, but the reward is well worth it.........

I know they are expensive, but MEPHISTO shoes are fantastic! The basic brown walking shoe that is their signature shoe, is the best shoe we have ever worn. You can wear them anywhere, all day, every day, for years and years. Currently they are selling for about $300 US (I said they were expensive), but 4 or 5 years from now, when the sole wears out, and the inside is all worn out, you can send them back to the factory with $60 and they will be good for another 4 or 5 years of 24/7. The factory sends them back to you and they look/feel like brand new shoes.

My husband and I have both worn ours for about 9-10 years now and love them. They help your back, and keep your feet comfortable all day.

Good Luck,

Yes it is a major pain to take your shoes off every time you go thru. I would rather do without the Docs than to have to take them off everytime I go thru security.

Military-issue Bates Lite. Black leather, with rubber/foam sole/insole. VERY comfy, and doesn't set off the metal detector. Available at any military exchange, maybe elsewhere

By using a military demolition watch (low mag sig), a brass belt buckle, and the bates I can go through secuity and only have to ditch my cell phone.
