When I first started flying in Bethel I only had 266hrs, got a job right seat and 6 months later at 714hrs was in the left seat.....But that was almost 9 years and a bazillion crashes ago.......

I was there a couple of years ago a friend of mine was flying a sled for Artic circle , I rode with him out to Kipnuk and back.

Attitude is everything. If you have a bad attitude, you will not get a job anywhere. You will be flying single pistons or right seat if you get an Alaska job with 1200 hours and no Alaska time. That being said, you should be able to find a job up here with your 1200 hours if you come up and look without an attitude and if you remember that you don't know everything! Spring is the time to look in Alaska. Try www.flyalaska.com for loads of info. If you are looking for a job it is worth the $20 lifetime. Try Grant or Hagelunds if you want a left seat job. Also I saw an ad for Craig Air in Bethel. Craig Air was hiring a chicken pilot last week.
