Well i have just begun my training and had an issue with my headset. ATC was having trouble hearing my CFI.
i have the following headset

http://www.avshop.com/catalog/product.html?productid=5490

At 1st he had me remove the batteries, didnt help, then he had me pull the mic wire out, that worked..

anyone know of any reason or any known issue either with this headset, which i beleive is a lightspeed cross country oem design, that this would happen?

thank,
mike

Since removing the batteries almost completely eliminates the ANR electronics, check for a short or low resistance from the mic contact and ground. Sounds like the headset may be swamping out the intercom circuit reducing the input (CFIs mic) to the radio.
