Strong Union.....its is a group of courageous pilots who broke away from the evil Teamsters Local 284 and formed our own Fractional Local....Local 1108.

They, along with the rest of the pilots force from NetJets, went head to head with one of the most deceptive management forces in the fractional industry and came out with an industry setting contract that will serve as the model for fractional pilots for many, many years.

StrongUnion started as a grassroots movement that spread through the soil of discontent and frustration which Shamtulli had sown among the pilot force. Tired of broken promises, the rank and file was ready to be led by a strong union, for a change. I think 911 helped to usher in that much needed change because the company grabbed furloughed pilots (like my husband) from the airlines who knew their worth and hadn't been beaten down like their counterparts who had been led astray by a weak union. The new voices joined the die-hards and StrongUnion was formed.

I've never been more pleased to have been right about something. When I first began mentioning SU (it didn't take long before every one of the NJ pilots knew what SU stood for) there were plenty of doubters around. Being able to look over my husband's shoulder has given me a front row seat from which to view the action. The NJ road map to success can be followed by the other fractionals, as well. I've been on record as saying that almost from the beginning. I can't wait to say "I told you so" to the other frac pilots. When that happens, it will have nothing to do with bragging. It will be an expression of pride in their accomplishment and the celebration that comes from watching your side win a hard-fought battle.
