Netjet hopeful here and I've got a couple of questions regarding domiciles that I don't recall seeing asked.

First, once your have received a domicile, is there a process in place that would allow you to go to another domicile at some point in the future. The language that I saw in the CBA looked to mostly cover home basing.

Second, the CBA also talked about selecting a satellite airport in the domiciles vicinity. Has the company released a list of satellite airports for the domiciles yet, LAX in the domicile I'm interested in. Anybody hired under the new contract have experience with this yet?

It looks like you have to reside within 90 miles of the satellite airport to utilize it. Is that being strictly held to?

Thanks

As far as I know, the 90 mile rule is enforced. I don't think it's up to the pilot whether or not to use the satellite airport. I believe that's a company decision and you go where you're told to show. I'll ask my husband your questions (when he calls home), in case none of the NJ pilots can respond.

As I undersdtand it, the Company will be allowing new hires to choose their domicile for the next year or so.

I guess they realize that they are going to scare people away if they start DEMANDING that new hires report to the Domicile the Company assigns.

Flying from home (HBA's) is going to be thehot topic during the next contract negotiations. The Company wants to eliminate them.....hopefully there will be enough pilots willing to fight to keep them intact.

The Company is hoping everyone hired between now and then will vote to eliminate the HBA for increase in pay or possibly a reduction in their medical cotributions.

They are setting the stage for the next round.

I think the pilots and their families will say "Bring it on"! It's a QOL issue that new hires will want to have, as well. That's assuming they're able to hire all of those pilots with their Domicile system in place. It's too soon to tell, but if they are allowing pilots to choose from the domicile list, that looks to me like they're giving up some ground already. They raised the pay but not enough to offset the COL in expensive cities.

What one has acquired after a long drawn out battle is not easily given up. SU sees this contract as a stepping stone--moving forwards, not backwards.

I have complete faith in SU......I'm just saying that the Company is going to play a very interesting game over this and those hired after the Ratification are going to be seen by the Upper Management as "Company Men (and women)" Towing the Company line....

Boy....are they in for a surprise!!!!!

Domiciles

Remember, you can only pick from the 5 domiciles, LAX,DFW,PBI, CMH, TEB.
choose wisely

I have no doubt they'll try. And I agree with you, DO-82 driver, that they'll be in for a surprise. I have heard that they still give a much more optimistic upgrade time frame (in the interviews) than 1108 does. Once the rosy scenario has been adjusted for reality, they're going to have to do some readjusting of their own. Speaking from experience, when my husband found out he had been "tricked" during the interview, he threw his lot in with SU and vowed to set things right --for the pilots. If they have any hope of winning flying crews to their side, they need to have a drastic change of heart that hasn't been seen yet.

And its people like you and your husband and countless other volunteers who have turn NetJets into the respectful place it deserved to be.

Aviation history has been made....not by RTS and his cronies....but by SU, all the NetJets pilots and soon all those at FLOPs who realise that the Fractionals in no longer a stepping stone.....its a career!!!!!!!!!!!!

Thanks for the kind words. My husband is gone tonight because he gave up some of his days off to go back into the fray at CMH. The NJ pilots made it a career choice--that's for sure. RTS was happy with the revolving door, but we all know that our families deserve more than that!

Strong Union.....its is a group of courageous pilots who broke away from the evil Teamsters Local 284 and formed our own Fractional Local....Local 1108.

They, along with the rest of the pilots force from NetJets, went head to head with one of the most deceptive management forces in the fractional industry and came out with an industry setting contract that will serve as the model for fractional pilots for many, many years.

StrongUnion started as a grassroots movement that spread through the soil of discontent and frustration which Shamtulli had sown among the pilot force. Tired of broken promises, the rank and file was ready to be led by a strong union, for a change. I think 911 helped to usher in that much needed change because the company grabbed furloughed pilots (like my husband) from the airlines who knew their worth and hadn't been beaten down like their counterparts who had been led astray by a weak union. The new voices joined the die-hards and StrongUnion was formed.

I've never been more pleased to have been right about something. When I first began mentioning SU (it didn't take long before every one of the NJ pilots knew what SU stood for) there were plenty of doubters around. Being able to look over my husband's shoulder has given me a front row seat from which to view the action. The NJ road map to success can be followed by the other fractionals, as well. I've been on record as saying that almost from the beginning. I can't wait to say "I told you so" to the other frac pilots. When that happens, it will have nothing to do with bragging. It will be an expression of pride in their accomplishment and the celebration that comes from watching your side win a hard-fought battle.
