Does anyone out there know anything about this flight dept.? I see them post every six months or so, wondering just how great they pay and schedule is, and what the flying is like. Any insight is appreciated.

Regards

Title: PILOTS FOR FAR 135

Company: Confidential Product/Service:
Location: OH, WV, KY Required Travel: None
Job Type: Full-time Employment Type: Permanent

Description:
"PILOTS FOR FAR 135, ME (C310) Cargo, requires 1100 TT and Multi-engine rating, OH, WV, KY, great schedule, great pay.".

That same as has been in Trade-a-Plane for as long as I remember. I have not heard of anyone ever getting an interview.

It's been there for at least five years, yea.

I think it's posted by air apps or some placement or marketing service to get people to submitt resume's purely for marketing intel.

Lindsey Aviation

I'm pretty sure that's Lindsey (Lindsay?) Aviation, a small C-310 check hauling outfit. One of their pilots once told me that their boss keeps that ad in TAP almost perpetually even though their turnover isn't that high. Apparently it's a decent place to work.

ditto on the "it been there as long as I can remember"

Back when we (Allegheny) had many aircraft in ALB and had to remote park at Signiture I used to see a 310 infront of the old police hangar area. I think this is them.

And if it is Lindsay, they've been around for awhile... they used to have a 310 based in Omaha around '90-'93. A huge timebuilding run, a real ball-breaker. Omaha-Des Moines-Omaha. Maybe 1.8 hrs per night. Also, up until maybe 2 yrs ago they had a 310 based in Cleveland at Burke Lakefront, Business Aircraft Center. Might still be there, who knows...

c310's at ALB

Anyone know who does the old Island Express run out of ALB (ALB-BUF) now? They used two 310's I used to do it before they crashed the 310 in ice and lost all their pilots. Left to fly 91 until Alg put me in a class but we all know how that worked out...
I just assumed it was some spoof ad because every qualified pilot that sent a resume there wasn't called back. It would be nice to have a run like that one again.

I was called be that company about 3 years ago and offered an interview. It was to be conducted in Niagara Falls, NY (their hq) and the opening was in Charleston, WV. flying checks 4 nights a week. I didn't take the interview because I couldn't afford to go there at my own expense since I was living in Chattanooga, TN at the time. As far as I can recall, the pay was not too bad. Sorry I can't remember the name of the outfit.

Sure sounds like Lindsay. I did 6 months there about 8 years ago. They want a year, but he did not pay us on time and that means either a) the company's going under, or b) the company does not treat its workers (making $300 a week and needing to pay bills) with respect - either way it was time to get resumes out. While the flying was a useful time builder and learning experience, I don't think I'd recommend it. Nickel & Dime stuff is common, as is failing checkrides because he does not want to have to start paying you just yet, as are calls at noon while you're trying to sleep to ask you about unimportant things. If you can build the time elsewhere, do so.

On the bright side, there are a lot of ex-Lindsay pilots out there who bond readily as a result of shared adversity.
