I lived there till about a year and a half ago, now I work up on the North Slope and fly in and out of ANC every two weeks. Depending on what you like to do, there's either a lot to do for fun, or if you're like my wife nothing...at least in the winter I think the Anchorage Film Festival is going on now. We used to go to the Bear Tooth, cheap movies and good food/beer. The Slush Cup should be next month down at Alyeska. Check out the Fly By Night Club if you haven't already.
