Amflight Jumpseating

Can Amflight pilots jumpseat on 121 carriers? (Skywest) I know that we took them at ASA a few years ago, but don't know if the rules have changed? Can any AMF pilots enlighten me? Thanks.

Short answer: Only on SWA.

Long answer: Ameriflight only has an agreement with SWA, so we know we can jumpseat with them. However, sometimes you might find an airline that is willing to let you ride, but it is a very long shot. Most airlines turn down 135 pilots automatically. I've been told that some (I'm not sure which) leave it to the captain's discretion. Ameriflight pilots are listed on CAS and that may help your cause but it is highly unlikely that you'll be able jumpseat on anyone other than SWA.

Mesa has been pretty good with letting Ameriflight pilots jumpseat with them. You could give them a shot.

I've jumpseated on Horizon, SWA, Skywest, and America West.

However, SWA is the only formal reciprocal (sp??) agreement we have.
