Be familiar with 135, and know 91 like the back of your hand. Know weather, weather services, and the AIM. Other than that, they will teach you everything else you need. Good luck.

I agree with the previous.... know 135 regs, 91 regs, wx, AIM...there's a test at the end of indoc. and you have to score above 80% to keep going. The more time you put in now to those areas the better off you'll be...oh and paying attention in ground school would help as well. Good Luck :)

If you look on there website you can become an instructor at low time. The only problem is you have to live in Oak or Bur.

What sort of wx should I study, theory or wx services ie metar tafs fas.....etc

wx services mostly...know basic theory, but don't stress too much about that. Know how to read those tafs, metars, pilot reports, notams etc... times they're valid for, when they come out...etc..

They'll go over a lot of it in class too for a refresher, but i wouldn't count on learning it down there... there's plenty of other things to stuff in the brain!

Basically, whatever Bob says, write it down. The exam at the end of the week is openbook everything, so you really shouldn't get a bad score. Still, someone always ends up washing out at this point. Know where to find Wx symbology and bring ALL your FAA published books and you'll be fine. The real fun begins after you finish Basic.

Bob

Good 'ol Bob!

There were 4 people that scored below an 80% in the class ahead of mine...take your time, it's not that hard, just don't rush it and you'll do fine. Getting done early and scoring poorly isn't worth having to wait 6 more months to re-interview!

Not sure how you can fail the Indoc test

When I hired on I had never had a civilian flight job, had been out of flying professionally for 9 years, hadn't touched the yoke of an airplane for 5 years (until 3 flights just before my interview) and I only missed one question. It's open book and you have plenty of time.

That said, studiing the stuff mentioned in the other posts definately won't hurt.
