Rumor from the street, Ameristar is paying their DC-9 Captains 36K per year. Could that be true? That is about the same as we pay our DA-20 F/O's while in ground school.

Relient stopped operating in Apr 02, Ameristar picked up the DC-9's in Aug and put them on a 125 certificate

Wow that must be some fairly desperate pilots, I know guys making $40K a year flying right seat in a King Air. Tom and Ted Wackendorfer must know where to find pilots...Will that have any affect on the other 135 charter operators pay...?

My understanding is that is the base pay for F/Os. They also get a mileage. I believe if they fly 700 hrs, it will be somewhere between $55,000 to $60,000. It will not effect the 135 side. TW doesn't have to look to hard for pilots, unfortunatly there is a glutton of pilots right now begging for any work. I hope it gets better for us all real soon.
