Can anyone tell me what a/c ameriflight bases in PHX and what are the chances of getting a PHX base? My cousin is thinking of coming back from overseas and is looking for work.
Thanks

Metro's, 99,s & 1900's. All turbine, no Piston.

Unless things have changed in the last 4 months there are 2 PA 31 flying out of there. I do believe it is a harder base to get into though as some senior people stick around. If he qualifies for direct hire into the 99 and is willing to take an outstation his chances will improve.

The base consists of a lot of outstation UPS runs - PA31, BE99, 1900, and SA227. There are also a few DHL and other regularly scheduled runs as well (BE99 and SA227).

Great group of pilots at the base. It is a fairly senior base and upgrades beyond the 99 may take 2+ years unless you take an outstation run. Like most bases, there's always change so who knows how upgrades will be down the road. All the outstationed runs are currently taken except the PA31 in SAD (which might already be filled by a new hire???).

Overall, chances of getting PHX in the PA31 are fairly good - it all depends on base need at the time that your cousin submits his application. It goes in waves depending on changes in runs and people leaving.

Oh thats right I totaly forgot 135 used to run in a PA-31.

Still 2 PA-31s flying out of PHX...one on an outstation and a second to VGT. Also two PA-31 reserve lines. They are hiring into the PA-31 into PHX right now.
