In their route map, Ameriflight has quite a few island and S.American destinations. Seems like PR is their only base. Is bidding based on seniority or do you get assigned there in training?
the puerto rico base is only 99's, 1900's, and metros so you'll only get hired to that base if you have the minimum time to get into one of those aircraft. the bidding system works like this:
1. open runs are first bid on inside that run's base.
2. if nobody bids it, or nobody qualifies time wise, that bid is opened up system wide.
3. if still no dice, then the company will look to hire outside the company.
first bid in wins the assignment, and if two bids were put in at the same time then the more senior bid wins. almost everyone inside the company has a standing bid for something. you can bid aircraft anywhere, or aircraft at a certain base. i think you can even just bid a base if that's your bag. mins are still 1200 total and 100 multi. the company is growing, and we are going through pilot's like crazy, although we are starting to catch up. just bought 3 metros and two 1900s.
