Anybody know what American Eagles policy on jumpseats is. Do they allow more than one? Unlimited? or only one.

Thanx in advance

The jumpseat is offered to pilots of any carrier that has a reciprocal agreement with the airline. Gate personnel have the authority to issue the jumpseat. Priority is determined on a first-come, first-served basis. Casual first-class attire or uniform is required, along with airline ID, pilot certificate, and boarding pass. John F. Kennedy and Dallas/Ft. Worth Airports use vans to transport passengers from the gate to the aircraftóat these locations, please check in at the gate 15 to 20 minutes before departure. All American Eagle flights are considered domestic operations for jumpseating purposes. Call 1-800-433-7300 for reservations. Website: http://www.aa.com.

Translation - OUR J/S PROGRAM SUCKS!

AA/EAGLE will take only one j/s reagrdless of open seat. I know other airlines have been kind to allow countless number of AA/Eagle employees on from JFK/BOS etc. BUT we can only offer you 1 bloody seat, but hey, it's better than nothing right??? We're kinda of working on changing it, at least will tell you that. Oh and we won't take you international, except for Mexico and Canada.

Sorry guys couldn't resist. Been denied more times than any ohers. Great crews with their hands tied on this one but the excuse is OLD. Most other regionals and some majors will still gladly take the whole lot of you.

What's the deal with non-revving on your own airline? I can't tell you how many times down in San Diego we'd see guys jump out of their Saab across the ramp and run over to jumpseat with us back to LAX.

I heard something like they charge you guys to ride on your own company flights. Is this true?

Yes we can only take 1 jumpseater. We have tried to get it changed but the company always says its too expensive to reprogram the computers blah blah blah basically our policy is tied to AA they take 1 we take 1 not our choice at all.

We do pay a service fee until you have 5 years of service the coach travel is free. The only way around the fee is to ride the jumpseat and you cant do that unless every seat in the back is taken so basically the jumpseat wont be issued to company personel ( excluding line checks observation rides etc) unless every seat is taken.

Thanks for everybody that does take multiple jumpseaters we really are trying to change this but AMR doesnt pride themselves on being employee friendly.
