Anypne here know if you need to list for the jumpseat on american? If so, what number do you call to list.

thanks for the help!

listing

You just show up at the ticket agent counter, there is no need to list, nor is there any way for non AAers to list. Good luck, they only accept one jp per a/c, unfortunately.

Actually, there is indeed a way for non AAer's to list. While it may not be required, I have encountered a few agents who told me they couldn't help unless I was listed. A quick step to the side of the counter, a phone call... and I was back in business. It's been awhile since I've encountered this, but perhaps that is because I now list in advance each time.

As for the number... I'd rather not post it. Try getting up with your j/s coordinator, its where I got the number.

Actually, there is a 888 number for you to list. Highly recommendend so you don't upset the gate agents when you show up and your not meal listed.

The number is 1-888-933-5922 then hit number 3 which is for OAL to get a heartbeat on the line and have you listed. The wait is sometimes long, so make sure your cell phone battery is charged.

I wish AA would go to multiple jumpseaters like many other carriers have. Wishful thinking, I know.

Good Luck!

AA management wouldn't have ANY jumpseaters if they had their way. BTW, while it takes very little to upset AA gate agents, you are in no way required to list for the j/s as an OAL person.TC

Just don't tell the agent on the phone that you are OAL and want to list for the jumpseat. This seems to confuse them greatly. Just tell them your trying to catch a ride home and to meal list you. Once your at the gate, they can change your info into the jumpseat there.

Is your jumpseat even aware that many majors are now multiple jumpseat? Does he/she even care? Any hopes of getting this changed. I hate the feeling watching a lane push back with 60 seats in the back and only one jumpseater.
