Does anyone know where I can get some info on the current state AWA is in? Are they going to hire in the near future? Are they doing ok? Do they have pilots on furlough etc.. What is FO first year pay in AWA?

I applied during their 1999 window and they recently sent me a letter to update my resume if still interested.

Where have you been? AWA has been hiring for the past several months. We have already hired 40 with plans to hire around 100 more this year.

First year pay = aprox. $35k.

State of the company: Losing money. But far less than the other majors (excluding SWA and Alaska).

Unless you have an in house recommendation you probably won't get an interview.

Well I recently updated my file in November 2002 at their request. All they need is to pick up the phone!!!

:(

Did you not read the last line in my post? If you don't have a recommendation from an AWA pilot they are not going to call you.

bummer letter

Just got a letter today that stated; "although you are competitive in many areas, we are unable to offer you an interview." and to try back next year.
I have never been given a rejection letter to not even come to an interview!!!

i'm definately bummed!!!

any input? or advice?

I know HP is hiring. One of the dispatchers here has a significant other as a B1900 check airman - and he got his offer a couple of days ago.

Just heard from a friend at AWA that they cancelled the next new hire class. Probably as a result of the potential MESA contract. He said MESA jets will be flying PHX to MEM for AWA.
