My apologies for posting this in the interview forum but it was the best place I knew of to get a quick reply.

Can somebody please post the America West jumpseat policy?

1. How many will they take from OAL’s?
2. Do you have to list ahead of time and what’s the #?
3. Once you get on can you get bumped at the hubs changing flights by other OAL jumpseaters?

Thanks in advance for the information. Thanks to all of you who've given me rides in the past!

1. We take as many as we have empty seats.

2. You do not have to list. Just go to the gate.

3. Yes. Once you get to the hub you will have to deplane and sign-up for jumpseat again. If someone signs-up before you they have priority.

Hope this helps.

Hi!

THey DO have a list, but it may be for Intntl only.

I tried to JS to Mexico, but the Capt said we weren't on the list, so he couldn't take me. HE also said a CONUS JS was no problem, so that's why I think maybe only a list for intntl.

Ditto. Same thing hapened to me, except I was trying to get home from Mexico. They said domestic- no problem, but no international.

135 jumpseaters???

Does AWA allow 135 guys to jumpseat?

Thanks

Just to clarify, right now to JS int'l requires being listed as a crewmember so OAL's are ineligible and even AWA's can't JS for pleasure until they get some computer thing straightened out. (That's what they told us.)

Just J/S'ed offline to Cabo and back from PHX. Listing was not necessary, but was helpful on the way down. It WAS necessary on the way back. I had previously listed and breezed on through. My buddy, who was hoping to get on another carrier, had not listed. All he had to do was call the 800 number and list over the phone and walk back to the counter and he was on. It was no problem, they were very friendly and quite accommodating. My hat's off to the HP folks.

Standing by for thread hijack.

He doesn't "carry" one remember. But now you've done it, you've hijacked the thread. I'm sure you'll get a pass.
