AMC vs. ACC for UPT

OK...I've been burried in every sort of info I can find for the last few years. I am prime for the picking for any UPT slot. All my squares have been filled in. I have been enlisted, both active and ANG, but have always been an ACC guy. As my path seems to be leading me to heavies, I'm curious if anyone may have some good input on the subject. Besides any obvious, what issues may I encounter. Differences, opionions welcome??

I don't think it will matter. The only problem is you know everyone in your unit. Which helps you get a slot for UPT. But if you want to fly heavies start sending out packages. And if you have the money go to a few drill weekends and show your interest. Good luck.

I'm not sure I follow the question either. I'm in the same boat, only opposite. I'm in AMC, (but in a FW, figure that one out.) and I'm applying to ACC units. Everyone goes to the same UPT.

That won't happen. AFSOC is written into Fed Law. The other commands are AF inventions AFAIK

GET into UPT first. Your decision will change once you get in, most likely. We had guys that only wanted fighters, until they started pulling Gs in the summer...and we had guys that didn't care...etc..etc. First GET to UPT. Then worry about it.

I'm just gathering opinions I guess on everything from missions, what to expect after UPT, C-5's, Herks, Tankers...

To answer Pkober... yes, I have been selected by several units and have more interviews on the way. I realize I am very lucky to even have options to compare.
