i used to fly for alpha, good company and good people to fly with for the most part. I wasnt there for all that long since another opportunity came along but that was before they implemented the contract deal which is pretty rediculous. last i heard they were losing a lot of copilots to other deals. The company is only going to keep growing and have made a few good changes from what i hear.

Just Curious ?

How does an FO log time in a single turbine ? I heard they give "dual instruction" so both can log. Is this true ?

I believe that under 91K, you are required to have a SIC by Opspec. If you are required by the FAR's then you can log it.

I may be wrong, but that's what I hear.

Sounds like a good place to get some EFIS and "real world" experience as a fresh FO for a few years and then move on to the regionals or an SIC Citation job somewhere else. A few years tooling around the East Coast in a Pilatus would be some good experience if you are a young pilot in my opinion. You are bound to improve your skills if you are flying in and out of TEB and grass/short strips.

The huge downside is that it is all single engine time. Those Citation jobs will probably require at least a couple hundred hours of M.E. If you don't have that already, it can be costly to get.

It would be great experience, but how marketable is it?

Can you log SIC in a Single engine turbine ? I flew 91k, there's no type or special requirement to have a SIC in a single engine airplane. Even certain twin turbo props do not require SIC....Very strange.

It’s required by our insurance company so it’s in the specs.

FAR 91.1049 (d) "Unless otherwise authorized by the Administrator, when any program aircraft is flown in program operations with passengers onboard, the crew must consist of at least two qualified pilots employed or contracted by the program manager or the fractional owner."

Alpha doesn't have a single pilot waiver so an SIC is required per the FARs for all program flights.

What good is SIC in a single ? Can I log SIC in a 172 if it's 91K ?

P.S. "Two throttles in your hand is worth more than two pilots in the front"
