ALPA carrier Re-hire

You sever all ties with a carrier represented by ALPA. You are re-hired by the same carrier 2 years later. Do you receive any credit seniority wise for previous time with said carrier?

I know of a couple of cases from pilots that went to the majors right before 9/11 and then were rehired at PCL but they came at the bottom of the pile as F/O's, it worked out for them because back in those days the company was growing like weeds and they got the left seat soon thereafter but at least in that case they resign both the company and their seniority number
