Does anyone know what the regs are regarding allowing jumpseaters on 135 cargo aircraft. I am aware of 135.85, but there's nothing that I've found written as cut and dry like the 121 reg "121.547". Any help would be appreciated!! Mahalo!

I haven't flown 135 for five years...

...so I'm not current on those regs. I would *guess* that if there's no reg prohibiting it then you'd only have to make sure you're compliant with company policy.

I'd ask your CP or DO or go to ProPilot.com and click on Doc's FAR Bulletin Board. You can post this question there and get a very good answer.

Good luck.

A lot of 135 freighters don't comply with the 'passenger carrying' regulations, and as such can't take jumpseaters. However, a jumpseater is usually referred to as an 'additional crew member' and as such the passenger carrying regulations do not apply. It varies form outfit to outfit, but my last 2 didn't allow jumpseaters unless it could be beneficial to the company (read: kissing rear ends)
