Hey ya'll, hope you are having a good weekend. Questions for Allegiant guys. My main concern is that I would have to commute for at least the first year, maybe more. I have never commuted, and while I have wrapped my mind around it from what other airlines look like, I feel like Allegiant is a big unknown as far as commuting goes. We all know that CHPERPLT loves living in his base, though. :)

1) How long would you think to get to SFB or PIE (I am in my early 30s if the choice goes by age in class)

2) How long to then hold a line once at SFB or PIE?

3) Are days off grouped into blocks or are there random single days off on lines?

4) How does bidding work? Are you able to drop trips or pick up open time? Computer based?

5) Upgrade looking like 2 years, maybe less, is this reasonable?

6) What else that I haven't thought of that is Allegiant specific regarding commuting?

Thanks fellas! (Go Indy, Go N.O.!)

I asked similar ?'s in the Thread call Allegiant Pay? Most of what you asked is in there. Class seniority is age. ounds like reserve will not be to long if at all. Told junior bases are Orlando and Vegas....Others may be attainable within a bid or 2 or less. Not sure but kinda sounds like in somebases reserve goes senior or there is none. I was told if get Reno would not sit any reserve.

Just a bit of info I have gathered.

Good Luck

Between re-reading old threads and skid's reply, that answers alot. Still interested in finding out:

1) How are the days off structured? Blocks of 2,3 or 4? Reserve vs Lineholder?

2) If you CAN drop/add trips, is that actually realistic as small as the company is right now?

3) The schedule is like during training: I read in another thread 45 days total, are there any days off during?

4) With 2007 growth and other factors, do you think upgrade times could still be at or under 2 years?

Thanks!

1. Possibly right away. They are expanding the FL bases (or so the word goes). If not, a short time in LAS until a class or two is behind you and upgrades have cleared the way to move.
2. Depends on the number of lines vs. reserve. Currently 6 lineholders and 2 reserve in PIE. With more people coming on line and growth, might not take too long.
3. Lines are built with commuters in mind (PIE at least) so days of work and play are grouped. Don't know about SFB.
4. You put in your desires. LAS and SFB you can pick up open time. Can't in PIE yet as lines are tightly built.
5. Been holding pretty well to what has been published - a bit less than 2.
6. Allegiant is CASS and commuting works pretty well.

Reno and Laughlin go fairly senior. It is a good place to be. As with any smaller company, things could change at the drop of a hat but we are growing and things are looking good.

Good luck.
