Looked at their website and couldn't find much in the way of requirements. Nothing is listed for pilots currently, so I assume that they are fully staffed for now. I imagine they might want prior dc/md8 experience?

Thanks!

PM Jeff Helgeson (Thats his screename) he's at AAY....

nice guy too, i had a ground instructor at my current job tell me that aay was gearing up to hire quite a few, not sure if thats true though

Great job if you enjoy visiting places like Bellingham and McAllen! Can't be too bad if you can live in THE VEGAS...

There were rumors about these guys starting up Florida stuff...taking over Southeast's old routes. Any truth?

I see em in Reno every time we go through there. I dunno if that's a base or a layover............

AAY info, check out the previous thread

I just flew the inaugural flight from SFB to PIA. I had not been there since flying the DC9-10 for TWA! Still has the same black and white tile floor.

We are actively hiring and may have a class in June if the delivery of additional planes takes place. If not, there will be a class in Aug. or Sept. It may be AAY has 3 classes starting in June through Sept., but I doubt that.

AAY does mostly turns, so you are home every night. The Florida flying has been well received. They are different routes than Southeast.

Check out www.allegiantair.com That will show our scheduled 121 flying, flight times, news releases, packages, etc.

The RNO and IFP flying is Casino charter work and is scheduled in advance. That flying will not be on our route map, as it is marketed by Harrah's.

I personally had been flying out of DEN to Mexico for over two years for Apple, but now am in Florida. Living in base is in king (or queen - that one was for English!). Commuting always sucks, but living in base and home every night is nice.

You may PM me for more info., but check out the previous threads on Allegiant, first. It has all the info.

Jeff

PS: Previous MD80 experience is a plus, as is 121 experience and living in or near one of our bases.

A/C deliveries

AAY is scheduled to have 18 MD80s on property by the end of the year, but may acquire an addition 5 a/c in short order. The paln is to have 29 - 35 planes by the end of 2007.

I talked to the CP today after my flight and he is going to pick up a/c #14 this week and #15 is not too far behind.

Jeff

FO pay yearly: 39 42 45 47 (stops at 47)

Capt pay yearly: 56, 67, 75, 80, 85, 90, 92, 94, 97, 100 (stops at 100)

Per diem: $1.00 an hour

The pay doesn't sound much better than a regional, and I was told the schedules are worse. However, I have heard that it is a great bunch of guys. Just be aware of what you are signing up for. That's some pretty awful MD80 pay.

well it beats 20.00/hr right now.

Are you flying an MD-80? I think it's obvious why pilot pay continues to drop like a rock when you have guys like this post saying that it's ok to fly MD-80's for those rates as long as "it beats 20.00/hr right now." You should go work for JO and his cronies after making a post like that. He'd be proud of you.

Don't post something then, especially about pay nowadays, and not expect to take some heat. Looks like you took it pretty well though.

Glass houses, my friend, glass houses. I fly a 50 seater and you fly a 70 seater and I get more money. I see nothing wrong with that. But hey, you've got that shiny 170 Guppy Killer, right?

LMAO!!! What a douche....

He's making 20.00/hr flying a BE-1900D..... You're making 22.00/hr flying an ERJ-170. Do you really think your helping things?!?!

I bet you were so excited to get an airline job so you could quickly get to look down on other pilots.

The topic isn't regional pay. I'm talking about MD-80 rates. Do you think those rates are acceptable for an MD-80? Those are basically regional rates to fly a narrow body airliner.

I'm at my 3rd airline actually after previously being furloughed. So I wasn't so excited to get a job so I could quickly look down on other pilots.

Im sure he paid his dues too, what a Fing lil punk!

T Gates, those days in the Lear with ACE were fun but they weere hard as hell.... wouldnt trade it for anything, except for the winning numbers to the powerball now;)

Going to answer my question or not about the MD-80 pay rates? Do you think they are reasonable and would you fly one for those rates? As I said I'm not posting in regards to regional pay but you turned it into a regional pay bashing event that I'm not going to comment on.

So lemme get this straight.... You want to hear that AAY's MD-80 pay is substandard, and call them whores, but don't want to hear what some people have to say about what your flying that "Guppy Killer" for?

I believe Mesa's 90 seaters are the guppy killers right now. Have you read about them replacing US Airways 737's on the east coast? I see how it is though. You guys are going to team up on me here since you used to work together.

I don't think $120/hr is bad for our 170 captains after 20 years which the current contract states. Besides, upgrades are running anywhere from 12-18 months right now which is why I chose to work here. Plus, everyone that works here seems to love it. I agree FO rates are bad but they will come up since the contract is ammendable next year and be comparable with Comair's 70 seat rates. I worked for a regional that had an industry leading contract prior to being furloughed, so no I'm not trying to whore myself out or sell myself out. QOL is great though at CHQ. No reserve for new hires with at least 15 day off lines per month on the 170.

I'm not calling anyone whores. I just believe those are extremely low pay rates for a MD-80. If you don't agree that's fine too.

For whatever reason, AAY's -80 series payrate isn't the same as AA or DL or even YX. Let it go.

ExCV might be joining the furloughed ranks here pretty soon so have a little compassion as to why he's asking about Allegiant.

If you're who I think you are, you'd understand ExCV and his motivation. I believe all three of us spent time at the same place, very recently.

Thanks Shadow....Well I guess when one faces losing their job, one tends to look at all options. Me? Im just living the dream Brutha! personally, if i have to pull gear Id rather do it on an MD80 than EMB.

I wish him luck getting hired to fly MD-80's when he's currently a Beech 1900 FO. I'm assuming that's the case since he says he's making $20/hr. I'd be getting out as soon as I could if I were him too. Lots of regionals are hiring. Good luck guys.

Where is here? You don't work at CHQ yet. How do you know if everyone that does have a job there loves it?

Your knowledge of CHQ is about on par with someone who doesn't even work there. Just so your not under any illusions about what your getting in to current top out pay on the E-170 is approx. $94/hour and your contract does not become ammendable for another 2.5 years. Add negotiations on top of that and you may see a new contract in place by 2010.

I've talked with several people that fly there and have many friends from my ACA days that also fly there now and everyone has great things to say about it. I take it you haven't seen the actual contract? It is $120/hr after 20 years. You are looking at airlinepilotcentral.com. That doesn't go all the way to 20 years like the actual contract does or cover the longevity of our current contract. I'm sorry I misspoke and said everyone loves it here. I'll be more selective with my words next time. Good catch though. Contract is ammendable in 2007. I see CHQ and Mesaba's pay rates are stunningly similar on airlinepilotcentral. I thought you guys signed a new contract about a year ago? I thought they pay would have been higher since everyone is always ripping on CHQ's pay. Surprising to see the rates are the same.
