I'd love from anyone who took the test there. Was the training worth the $295??

I didn't have much time so I bought the ASA book, went through it with a highlighter and marked all the correct answers. I then sat down with the book for an afternoon reading only the questions and only the correct answers, ignoring the incorrect answers. Went in the next day, paid $50 and got a 100% on the LaserGrade. My only outlay was for the book, the highlighter and the testing fee.

I know it's not too professional but I only had one day to do it in. After the test I went back and really studied the material to see what I missed or didn't fully understand.
 
Gleim CD-ROM ($59.95 at the time, $20 off for an "active" CFI) worked pretty well for me:
