I went there back in '97 for mine. Luckily, I had a few hundred hours in it from instructing already, because we actually munched a motor on a missed appraoch from a practice NDB. The instructor had about 400 hours TOTAL time. I had just finished training in the RJ and was as sharp as I could be. Anyway, when we got back on the ground in RDU, I figured there was no way I would be able to do my checkride the next day as it was about 9PM and they only had one airplane. Well, when I got there the next morning fully expecting to have to reschedule at a later date, I found another plane there. They flew one in from Texas or somewhere in the middle of the night so I could take my checkride that day! I was pleasantly suprised.
