Im trying to get some more info about the P A C E program from mesa. Right now I have right around 265hours and should have my commerical in the next month or so. But there might be a few problems. I dont have any college, and no "real multi time". Can they wave the college for the program? The cost is kinda = if I get my CFI's or do the PACE thing, so that im not worried about. If money does get tight I have a few dirtbikes I can sell that will pay for it.

So should I start too look more into it?
Anything else I should look for?

You must have atleast the associates degree to be able to enroll in the PACE program... I don't think any of the reqt's can or will be "waved". I think given this information that you will be somewhat forced to go another route unfortunately.

Best of luck to you,

Tony:
I checked into the PACE program about 6 weeks ago and no way will they wave the college thing (unfortunately).

It does seem like a great program for those that have the degree and the time/ratings.

I'm just praying right now that XJT is gonna keep their mins low (600/100/20 right now?) for a while. Maybe there's hope for the low time CFI's out there yet!

Good Luck!

PS
Depending on your situation right now, you could check into Airman Flight School's Commercial/CFI program. If the Commercial "finishing" program is the same as the general CPL thing then it's only 50 hours of instruction (most of which is solo VFR cross countries). If you want any info, just PM me or give them a call. Good Luck!

Ya I dont think im going to jump on getting my associates degree right now. I already have a Job CFI'ing when I get them. Also I have a friend that has a friend who got a job with ameriflight at 640TT flying VFR routes. So im just going to wait it out.

Just understand that those are minimums, not necessarily what they are hiring guys at. For many years, the minimums at United were a Commercial/Instrument ticket and 350 hours.

What exactly is the 600/100/20? 600TT, 100 multi, 20 of what?

Just be careful with Ameriflight, they are a PFT operator when it comes to those who do not meet the 135 IFR PIC minimums. They have been marketing these programs for quite some time and they are tied in with Eagle Intl. So beware... Do some research on Eagle, this company is evil in more ways than one. Don't limit yourself and look at all options before making a choice that may or may not be "costly".

good luck,

Trust me that's completely understood...

I realize that there will be people out there for the rest of my life with more time than me...but it's definitely something to give hope! haha
