I been hearing that there was a motion by the WO guys to staple the WO guys to the bottom of the J4J list so that they may have the chance to fly the jets at the contract carriers. Is this true? Anyone?
Lear, if this is true, it might be a step in the right direction. I do understand that with the impending passage of LOA 91 (it was voted in by the USAirways pilot), it puts the flow-through rights of the WO'd pilots to MDA in jeopardy, as they (management under pressure from GE) want to sell a fair portion of MDA, essentially farm it out to a contract carrier in other words. Somehow, our flow-through language was excluded from LOA 91. I have heard that everybody from the WO'd MECC's to Woerth to Bill Pollack to Jerry Glass says that this is something that needs to be addressed, but I ask if this is case, why was it excluded in the first place? I have also heard that our MECC has been working very hard the last two weeks to get it done, but I imagine that being a hard sell. The pilots at any contract carrier would see this as worse than J4J:
"Okay guys, here's the deal. We wanna buy MDA and get a slew of EMB-170's. But you can't sit in them until all the APL guys AND all the CEL guys cycle through them. But the jets will be on the property...".
In any case, I'm sure it's bound to get ugly.
