Item 6: Alaska Airlines today announced that after months of
negotiations, six new Airbus 320s will come onto the property as early
as July. As part of the negotiating process, Chief Pilot Paul Majer
secured an agreement for Airbus Industries to replace the Alaska
Airlines uniform hat with Airbus-provided berets for all of the crews
who will fly the new aircraft. "This will be a stylish and comfortable
alternative to the current hats," said Majer. "We're hoping that the
crews will like these berets enough to wear them even when they're not
on the job."

In return, Alaska Airlines has agreed to update the aircraft tail paint
jobs from the familiar smiling Eskimo to a new design. A Seattle-based
advertising agency has developed the new tail design, which will feature
the well-known and beloved cartoon character Pepe le Pew.
