well If I flew 5.8% more hours than I did last month, I'd have to fly 95.4 hours a month to cover their increase. BTW I'm on reserve. We don't need any pilots though, we're Fat about 30 to 40. According to Mgmt.
 
I just noticed the Alaska website accepting pilot resumes, is this new?
 
Pilots airplane to transport passengers, mail, or freight, or for other commercial purposes. Reviews aircraft's papers to ascertain factors, such as load weight, fuel supply, load, route, or schedule to ensure safety of flight. Reads gauges to verify oil, hydraulic fluid, fuel quantities and cabin pressure are at prescribed levels prior to start engines. Communicates with control tower, ground and flight crew.

This is from Alaskas website. This is their description of what a pilot does.

This is what happens when HR is in charge of pilot hiring. They sound like a bunch of idiots.
 
Cabin Pressure Monkey

So after I verify that we have the correct cabin pressure PRIOR to engine start, can I call it a day and go home? How does one get correct cabin pressure while on the ground without the engines running? Looks like I better go back to systems school.

If you dig into that web sight enough, you will come across one of my favorites. Its one of our women pilots telling everyone how much she loves her layovers so she can stay in her room and do bead work. Slam-Click...

Our HR department makes me sick. It's embarrassing how little they know about our jobs. HR thinks it is important for future Alaska pilots to know that they can do bead work while on their layovers...
Do you know that Alaska HR called some guys on Christmas Eve to tell them that they didn't make it through the interview review board. Like that phone call could not have waited a few days?

The PC HR world is an embarrassment.

come on AK737FO, doesn't everyone do bead work. You guys up north go to your hotel rooms and eat your mukluk (sp) don't you?

All kidding aside. It is pretty sad those who have the final say in who gets hired here, knows so little about our jobs.

That woman is scary looking. If I was on an over night, I would hope and pray that she slammed-clicked.

Or she could say "Let's go to the bar, get some drinks and I'll tell you all about my beadwork. After that, we can hit the hot tub."
