Does anybody have info on the Airtran interviews?
How long till they get in touch with you?
I know they say 2 weeks, but I've heard that last year it would take up to 6 weeks.

Also, any news on the arrival of the new 737s?
How senior will those be for F/Os?

Thanks

1 to 3 I have not a clue

737's start to arrive this June with about 1 per mo then after.

The next new class will have 8, 737 FO's and 10, 717 FO's in it. We have 8, 717's on the way this year total. So the classes may be split about 50/50 between the aircraft.

Try this site: www.aviationinterviews.com Seemed like there was some good info there before.

Tell us about a time when...
The biggest is thing is not what they ask, but HOW you answer. Make sure you answer the question and come to a logical conclusion...preferably one that doesn't make you sound like an idiot or a jerk or a policy breaker.

My take is that we are looking for future captains who will represent AirTran positively while operating our aircraft safely.

Good luck.

Steeler Fan,

I noticed your avatar (picture) has an Airtran 737-700 with winglets. Will they have winglets? I thought Leonard said you guys might not get them with winglets.....I think they look better with winglets myself....

Bye Bye--General Lee;)

I was told during the interview that they chose not to have the winglets. They add "x" more feet to the wingspan and AirTran would loose a few gates in ATL. A study they made showed that for the typical stage length they expect, the impact of having winglets is not that dramatic...

The 800's should have the winglets.

Sorry I didn't mean to step on your head again.

Hey, I thought Pretender Joe Vee had gotten off this board. What's the matter. Your inflatable date boring you? Done remodeling your apartment in your parents basement?

FLB717,
You asked on another thread if I had an interview with AirTran. I did and it was right at 2 weeks ago. I think it went well, but I'll continue to second guess until the phone rings.

RING DAMMIT!!!!!!!!!

Catfish :D

interview info

I've heard from an inside source that a meeting was held Monday to present the interviewer's recommended candidates to the VP of Flight Ops - who will make the final decision. Shouldn't be long now before calls or letters are sent out.

Good luck to everyone trying to come here. The more, the merrier and the more job security for me.

Cheers!

General,

I borrowed my AVTAR from AF Citrus...looks cool, but the 700s should be coming w/out winglets...as FLB717 indicated, maybe on the 800s...

Joe Vee,

WHO DO YOU WORK FOR???

OK on another note, 3 of us in the AirTran 29 Apr class got the call 2 days ago that we are now pushed back to 27 May because there were not enough training slots (18 slots vs 21 pilots).

It's a plot by the man....

uhu

Interesting...

We were told about this during our interview on the 1st of April. They mentioned having 3 too many for the April class but were trying to squeeze in anyways. I guess it didn't work. That means 15 slots left for the May 27th class. 7 interviewed with me on the 1st and I think about the same amount the day before. I also think they started a new round of interviews yesterday. Can anybody confirm this?

For now, just waiting for the phone to ring.....................

Congrats on having a class date!
Did they mention equipment yet?;)

We, ahem, the 29 Apr class, were supposed to be the first split class with the 71 and the 73. Details are still sketchy about if they will still offer the 73. I kind of feel a bit smited that you guys heard the rumor before us. I could have been working at the Piggly Wiggly for an additional 2 weeks as head cart grabber--dammit! I am still looking forward to flying something pretty for a change :)

hey catfish, ,

Just to let you know, I interviewed 28 Oct 03, our group of nine was told to expect a call within 3 weeks. No one heard anything for almost 3 months. I got the good call exactly 3 1/2 months later -- recently told a class date of May 27, tentatively. So don't worry if you don't hear anything for awhile, and don't call Greta every week to see what she knows (I know of a few that did this -- they didn't get on, whether that's the reason or not, I have no clue). I think things will move much quicker for your group, very few in the pool now (there were 35 or so when we interviewed), new training center up and running for a while, and the need for new FOs for the new 73's and 71's coming. -- Good luck.
