I am the statics coordinator for the Pensacola Blue Angel Homecoming Air Show in November, and was looking to increase the number of aircraft on the ramp. This is an open invite to Navy, Air Force, Marine, Coast Guard, and Army crews and aircraft to participate in a fun event. The dates of the show are November 7 and 8, and room, rental cars, and a fuel top off will be give to participants.

If you are intreasted, send me an e mail, or post a reply. If you have a DSN phone or fax number, I can provide crews with more info.

Thanks-

It's been a few years since I was involved in this kind of thing, but I suspect that if you call the HQ ACC/DO's office you can get in touch with the staff guy who handles airshows and static displays for ACC aircraft. That'd be a good place to start.

The way it used to work was that after the requesting airshow officer jumped through a few simple hoops, ACC would send an announcement out saying "here's an airshow that wants a static, you can go if you want to" to its units.

I have just been calling individual units, and sending out requests that way. They handle the crew/aircraft assignments, and I handle the items from my end.

Try sending a PM to talondriver as well. If he doesn't want in on it, he can pass it along to a guy named Rosco - I know Rosco would be on an opportunity like that in a heart beat.

I am interested in coming out there for a weekend. My squadron routinely sends jets on the road. Usually supers (more gas!). PM me for DSN and other info.

Thanks

Apaches

Gents

I'm working on getting an apache (A model) and a longbow. I've already pm'd mudkow.

Clarification on dates - Nov 7 and 8 are Fri-Sat. Shows are usually Sat-Sun... Just want to be sure.

Thanx

Does anyone know if the Thunderbirds are still going to perform this weekend (October 11-12) at the Fort Smith Regional Airport/F-16 Guard base?

beer

If you mention flightinfo, I'll personally pour you a free beer at my squadron beer tent. BMD

They're planning on it

I just read on AF.mil that Ft Smith is where they will resume their show schedule.

10/9/2003 - NELLIS AIR FORCE BASE, Nev. (AFPN) -- The U.S. Air Force’s air demonstration team, the Thunderbirds, will resume its schedule beginning with the Fort Smith Regional Air Show in Arkansas on Oct. 11 and 12.

The Thunderbirds halted official demonstrations following an aircraft accident at Mountain Home Air Force Base, Idaho, on Sept. 14.

Complete details surrounding the Sept. 14 crash are unknown and a safety investigation board has convened to investigate the incident, officials said.
