I am looking at taking a flight up to Chicago and on my Microsoft Mappoint, I bring up 2 airports..

1.) Chicago O'Hare International (ORD)
2.) Clow International

But when I go to Continental.com and plug in tickets to go to Chicago, it uses Midway International (MDW)

Just wondering where Midway is in relation to O'Hare because I can't bring Midway up on my map.

I am trying to find the cheapest way to get to Oshkosh next weekend.

MDW is about 8 miles SW of downtown or about 15 miles SSE of ORD. MDW has a lot of cheap flights with ATA and SWA dominating the airport. I think the construction for the new concourses is complete too, looks sharp from the air. If flying in yourself, I would recommend Atlantic Aviation. Good luck.

If you are going for Air Venture (EAA Flyin) may I offer you another idea: come into Milwaukee (MKE) or Madison (MSN). They are both closer than chicago (save you ~3 hrs driving time each way). I belive that all the major carriers fly into MSN and I am 90% shure that everyone has a flight into MKE.

Green Bay (GRB) has a few carriers into it but don't know what they are offhand.

Squale,

Don't drool too much at Oshkosh. They tend to frown on that.

Thats funny that it brings up Clow airpoint. Clow is a little strip in Bolingbrook, a southwest Chicago suburb only runway is 3300x50. However I think a couple of corporate Lears fly out of their to Canada so they have been designated Clow International Airport.. must have confused the program.

If you want to go to Oshkosh, for the love of god don't fly into Chicago. It is probably a 3+ hour drive from O'Hare and 4+ from Midway. The suggestion to go in Milwaukee or Madison was dead on, will make it much more pleasant of a trip.

Hey Sqaule,

If you want to go to Osh Kosh, fly on Midwest airlines, to Milwaukee, and then go to Appleton. Pretty short drive from Appleton to Osh Kosh.

In 2002 we flew into Appleton/ATW, its about probably 20-30 mins from the show. But hotel wise everything was booked closer so we stayed at the Quality Inn in De Pere (nice location btw) which is like 10 minutes from Green Bay and was 45 from OSH. I think both ATW and GRB (Green Bay) get United Express, Delta Connection, Northwest Airlink, and American Eagle/Connection (I believe).

ahh... doesn't look like this is going to happen. They have some last minute deals on Travelocity.com that are good, but I CAN'T GET A **CENSORED****CENSORED****CENSORED****CENSORED** HOTEL, lol.. they are all booked, figures..

The only other option is staying like around the Milwaukee (MKE) or Madison (MSN) area in a hotel and driving to OshKosh each day. I think it's like a 1.5 hour drive each way from there.
