Airport Friendly Shoes

Anyone have any suggestions for comfortable, affordable, airport friendly (no metal shank) shoes?

Anyone have any suggestions for comfortable, affordable, airport friendly (no metal shank) shoes?

I've been using a pair of Rockports since May and LOVE them. The model is the Dressport H20, black in color. They are waterproof - I can personally attest to that many times - have no metal shank (salesperson put a magnet to the bottom of the shoe to verify), are slip-on, and very light-weight. It depends on your definition of affordable because these cost $90 plus tax at Dillard's. HOWEVER, because of all the advantages (waterproof, no metal, and no need to tie shoe laces when trying to make a 0500 show) I feel the expense was justifiable. I've never had to remove them while going through security. That may be because I am in uniform, but they nonetheless do not set off the metal detectors. Oh, they have worn well, too, and are very comfortable. They seem to have formed to my feet over time and fit like a glove. Hope this helps.
