I'm furloughed and am in class at a low pay, lousy contract, low QOL regional. Trying to stay in the game and like most of us, I love the flying itself but I realize this may be as good as it ever gets. Thinking about applying for an aircraft sales rep job that would let me stay in my hometown. Anyone have any experience with that sort of job or job change?

I am a Dealer, Broker it is a great job. I meet lots of people and travel often. The market isn't what it was 4 years ago. High fuel prices and very High insurance along with most requiring yearly training has hurt the sales lately. I am an east coast dealer. I deliver planes for a west coast guy and things aren't as bad out there.QOL is a big factor. I am a family guy and like to be at home. It would depend on your salary and how often you get to fly. If it is a commision job I would really research the sales the last year and see how many new clients they are targeting. Good luck, God Speed.

I met a guy who was ex airline , like 23 years old, sold 7 eclipses in a wek....

Go ahead and do it

I did a four stint at selling corporate jets back in the early 80's. Those years changed my life in many, many, positive ways to say nothing of the money I made. Would not have the flying job I have today, had it not been for this experience. Go for it and do your very best. Enjoy the people you meet as some of them will be friends for life.

Good luck!
