AIRNOW (Emb 110 Captains (2000TT, 500ME))

Tel: NO CALLS
Email: click here to apply
Web Site: http://www.airnow.com/AirNowMain/pilotap.htm

Airnow is one of the most progressive cargo companies in the country. We are currently looking to expand our pilot base in the EMB 110. Previous cargo experience a plus.
Requires: 2000 total time and 500 multi engine required.

Please visit our websit at airnow.com and complete our web application. When applying ref. climbto350.com

HR needs to do some work on how they phrase things one week after a crash.

As cruel as this may sound, the business will still go on. I know a bit about Airnow, it is not the training at fault. Maybe taking the plane to a single pilot status is a bit daunting, I don't know.
I don't think anybody knows right now if the plane failed, or the missed approach failed, the results would be the same I suspect.
But I don't think Airnow is wilingly putting people at harm.

No, I don't work there, never have. Was a competitor at one time, and was impressed by how they ran things.

At the rate they're ball-ing them up....Don't you think they should be hiring soon? <kidding>

I have wondered why they haven't started earlier than this. I mean start early and beat the rush. <joke-ing>

Geeeeeez.......this may be because they have to fly two to a ship. I think the Feds have told them to fly as a pair and not as single pilot. <that ought to stop the problem>

So, I am surprised that it took this long to start hiring. Plus you have the accident attriation rate....:( to deal with....of course. <what is going on over at AirNow>

I dont care if you are kidding, that was completely F'ing wrong and totally unprofessional. And yes I can take a joke, have a sense of humor however somethings just are not funny. I bet you wouldnt think this was a laughing matter if it was someone you knew that lost his/her life.

From what I hear, they have been looking for Bandit pilots for pretty much the last few years nonstop. I doubt that this posting was just to replace the pilot lost last week. Although I admit that the timing seems morbidly ironic.

Could anyone that works for AirNow shed any light onto the 2 pilot situation? I know the FAA said that was the deal at least temporarily, but is this looking like a permanent thing?

The principals with Air Now have been in that area for decades. Their reputation with FAA, customers and even their competitors has been remarkably good. I remember them as being a quality outfit.

Freighthumper,

You should relax. I don't think you have a sense of humor like you say.

ALL OF US have at one time or another lost someone close too us in aviation. So, toughen up. It does no good to make everyone out to be Chuck Yeager after they put one in. And, No I am not Chuck Yeager either. I know my limitations....some pilots never get the chance to laugh at something they did stupid, like I have, and instead pay an aweful price instead.

Oh, AirNow has now lost 4 EMB110's in less than 14 months. I think it is an experience issue OR a EMB110 (could even be mx) issue.

If you really want to know how to stop this from happening again......then start learning that pilots make mistakes and learn from them to stop future mistakes.

And for me, after 10,000 hours (95% multi/87% turbine), I think and rethink every decision I make in a Single Pilot ship. Because I don't have an extra set of eye's to back me up.

Get over telling everyone how great they happened to be after they are dead. I don't think for one second you are sincere. Just playing Political Correct Non-Sense for your own gain.

We cannot bring him back. But, maybe we can all learn, again if necessary, that we are all human. And, that it is possible for ALL of US to make the same mistake under the right circumstances.

Yes it is Tacky that AirNow is advertising for EMB110 Pilots this quickly. I don't think for one moment that it is a growth issue. Do you?

It is a replacement bid. Extremely Tacky for AirNow. But they can do whatever they want. I just hate to see pilots losing their lives. But, it happens. Get used to it.

Airnow lost one pilot, but they lost one airplane too! So that position doesn't exist anymore. The company has one less airplane for now and need one less pilot.
That advertising is to fill other pilot positions in the company so there is no mourning time in this case.

Scube.

honeycomb,

I think that is the first time I have EVER been called PC.... and I couldnt agree with you more about everything you said about this besides joking about "balling them up". I have nothing to gain from posting that I dont ever have any intention of working there again. Granted I might be a little sensitive about this one because it happened in an airplane that I flew on the same approach under the same conditions hundreds of times. Im certainly not trying to say ANYONE including myself is chuck yeager especially the last few Airnow pilots that have been so unfortunate. I Just think its tacky to joke about people dying.
