Got the letter...

Got the letter Today. Rejected! Didn't even say to "reapply when______." Now to rehash in my mind what went wrong.

Airnet pilots, I still want to work for Airnet. Do I continue updating my app? The letter sounds like a final farewell and I need to know if it's time to move on.

Keep building time toward 135 mins and reapply in 6 mos. Don't give up. No idea what happened? Some people forget the interview doesn't stop during lunch.

My best idea is that after 27hrs of no sleep and counting, (Wake up Tuesday 5:00am, go to work. Get off work at 6:00pm. Get all the last minute details together. Arrive at the airport at 11:30pm. Arrive at Columbus Wednesday at 5:00am and for fear of oversleeping watch all those shows you thought were no longer around. Arrive for interview at 9:00am) I wasn't on the top of my game. I think that this, coupled with the laid back attitude at Airnet, I was just too relaxed and not professional enough.

Sim - my sim skills weren't always at PTS and I left my gearing down once. Ouch!
Written - No prop bob
Tech - Sailed on through
HR - I just didn't like how I was treated and gave up on trying to convince him I wanted the job when after every answer I was just stared at and indirectly accused of lying. Personal flaw of mine is that when someone tries to attack my character, gloves go off.

I want the job, and I'll jump through the hoops. I just hope they didn't bring on some shmoe in my place who doesn't really give a crap and just wants the first offer that comes. If you say there's a chance of reconsideration, I'll keep going for it.

i just got back from my interview an hour ago. First off Airnet is an amazing company that really takes care of their employees and they are very proud of the work they do, and take it very serious, thats why they are the best at it. I was very impressed by facilities and all the staff. Everything went pretty well except for the simride! I lost a lot of altitude here and there and turned about 50 degrees when they killed the engine on the ILS! oh well i did my best, that thing is way too sensitive. I have flown other frascas without as much trouble as that one. I couldnt look away for 1/3 second to tune frequencies and do a complete thourough approach briefing. I did maintain positive control at all times and the approaches went well but it could have been a lot better. I was so pissed off after the sim session that i barely spoke during lunch and the presentation. Craig and Bill were in arizona so Jason and Marshall did the interviews. They are both awesome people. Airnet is a great company, the people are nice, and the facility is great. I thought i really wanted to fly night cargo, but now I am not too sure about it. I went to school to get an education so I wouldnt have to work 3rd shift, sweat/freeze your ass off, and throw boxes. Dont get me wrong the flying seems like a blast and is the best experience you can get, but it would get old very quick. I would rather be above the weather, with the AC on, listening to my ipod reading a magazine. So i am waiting on a letter, either way i am not too concerned about it. I am just going to keep flight instructing and look for something with a better schedule and working conditions. Call it paying your dues or what you will but there are other career paths to achieve your goals and if you forget about the present, the future may let you down.
