I originally posted this under the Jumpseat travel section and was told that I might get a better response here.

I'm assuming after reviewing the ALPA website that Airnet will carry 121 jumpseaters. Does AIRNET carry 121 jumpseaters often, meaning does Airnet deny jumpseats due to weight restrictions, Etc. very often. Also I was on the Airnet website looking at the schedules. And for Example they Say depating Milwaukee to Baltimore you leave MKE @ 805p and arrive BWI @ 2:40a that is a 6 hour leg. Is that leg so long because the plane used is a little bit slower or is that because the aircraft makes multiple stops on the way to BWI. I am curious about this option I may have to get back to work someday when loads are full. And if you are an Airnet pilot responding to this, Are you cool carrying another pilot with you? Is it often that you take a jumpseater along and if so when you call the AIRNET Dispatch to list for the jumpseat would they be able to tell me if there are any other people trying to jump.

Thanks

Yes, we carry 121 guys/gals we have reciprocals with. We have a few jumpseaters that use us...I know a few SWA and some regional people that use us.

As far as your routing from MKE to BWI, it's definitely more than one leg, not sure what the routing is they are using. Yes, it is possible to get bumped due to overweight, but mostly due to having company riders on, or other reasons (HAZMAT). When you call our dispatch, ask them how many flights you'd connect on, and if there's a back-up plan just in case you get bumped. They'll also be able to tell you if there are any other jumpseaters.

I have no problems with jumpseaters...it passes the time. Keep in mind, we do a lot of prop flying also, so don't be surprised if you show up to fly in a Caravan and expect to go nice and slow, until approach.:)

PM me if you have any other questions.

the route would be mke-mdw-cmh-bwi. it's rare that people get bumped. we like the company and are always looking for a reference!

quicker route is to hop on the DTW plane that leaves mke direct to cmh and then to bwi.

the only one thats direct lck is 361, and it doesn't even leave mke until 0200 local. it might be shorter in terms of legs, but you'll get to bwi a LOT later.

Most of us are more than happy to take jumpseat riders!

Our dispatch office can give you a pretty good idea of what legs good to ride on. Some fligth/legs are next to impossible to rely on for a ride because of space, hazmat. Occasionally you also run the risk of getting bump over our own riders. Always keep a backup plan, something you should be doing regardless of who you try to get a free ride with. :)

South West guys/gals seems to love our MDW to STP leg. If we bump sombody it's because three are trying to get a ride.\

GL,

How do the Southwest guys get from the Airline terminal to where Airnet operates? (Looks like it is Atlantic Aviation?)

Billy

atlantic would probably pick them up from the terminal, they could get a cab, or one of their buddies could drop them off. it isn't a far drive around the airport.
