I'm assuming after reviewing the ALPA website that Airnet will carry 121 jumpseaters. Does AIRNET carry 121 jumpseaters often, meaning does Airnet deny jumpseats due to weight restrictions, Etc. very often. Also I was on the Airnet website looking at the schedules. And for Example they Say depating Milwaukee to Baltimore you leave MKE @ 805p and arrive BWI @ 2:40a that is a 6 hour leg. Is that leg so long because the plane used is a little bit slower or is that because the aircraft makes multiple stops on the way to BWI. I am curious about this option I may have to get back to work someday when loads are full. And if you are an Airnet pilot responding to this, Are you cool carrying another pilot with you?

You might get a better response to this if you post it in the cargo section. However, I am an ex airnet pilot, and I'll tell you what I can. Airnet will carry 121 pilots if you have an agreement with airnet which most regionals do. From what I've heard, jumpseaters don't usually get bumped, and if they do, it's more likely due to space (other jumpseaters) rather than weight. As for the length of travel, more than likely it's due to the fact that you have to make a connection, and there is a layover in making the connection. Finally, as for carrying another pilot, everyone is cool with that. Most of the guys at airnet are cool. If you ask this question in the cargo section, I'm sure some of the Airnet guys could give you the exact schedule, and explain why it takes 6 hours to get to BWI. Hope this helps.

DAM!!!! Standby beat me to it...by oh so little...:D

In the past(i recently left there) we would carry most other carriers pilots that would be willing to take us as well...you know, the old reciprocal stuff, plus a few others that wouldn't take us. You would need to call the dispatch number to get listed and give them all kinds of information so they could check you against all the TSA no fly lists and everything (this includes your SS# by the way).

As far as the flight taking a long time...it is because everything out of MKE usually stops through MDW first, and then would continue on to CMH (LCK) where you would probably catch the lear down to BWI. So that would be the reason for the 6 hour trip, a couple stops and most likely a layover in LCK before the lear. The trip out of MKE would probably be a Baron or Caravan (maybe a chieftain), this would also lead tot he longer flight time.

One more thing, if you want the best information possible for a response from current employees there, you might try reposting this thread in the cargo section below...i know a lot of the Airnet guys hang out there, I only saw this by chance as it was the first thread on the main page, so i am sure most of the other guys will miss it as well.
