I am 30 hours short on the 135 IFR minimums for night.
I meet all the other minimum time and I was wondering if they will take me into consideration even if I am 70 hours night.

For those who are flying for Airnet, is your company picking up pilots who meet 135 minimums or will they hire those who are a little short? I know Airnet had the SIC program in the past but I have heard in today's job market it will not likely happen.

Any suggestions or advice will help.
Thank you in advance.

While we're at it, word on our property is that one must meet 135 IFR mins to apply, but the company's Web site states one need only meet VFR mins (500 vs. 1200 TT). I'd obviously assume the Web site is correct, but can someone confirm?

Thanks!

I have not talked to anyone in Columbus lately but, we just got an updated seniority list yesterday and there are no SICs on the list and I have heard that we are considered to tbe currently slightly short on piston pilots. Before I get your hopes up, I believe that there are already training classes planned and filled to rectify this situation and I suspect that they will be filled with PIC qualified candidates.

Good luck

Just about anyone can apply, weather or not you get chosen for an interview is another thing. Lately only people with 135 mins. or very close have been getting hired for classes. I'd say you need to be within 30 hours of all the minimums to get chosen for a class date. You may get to interview with less time for the pool, but you need to meet the requirements for staying in the pool.

There will probably be no more SIC's till at least the end of the year. My advise fill out the online app. as best you can and update every 100 hours or so. Classes are continuing to run!

Good Luck

kind of on the subject, but last month in recurrent, cmh was kinda quiet. There were no classes running, and only one other guy up doing recurrent. First time in 3 years i have ever seen that. There is usually always a class going, but i guess we are that slow on hiring people.

One of the guys that i hang around with in HKS said they have a class of Four that just started last week. And the class before that just finished up in April. I know they normally do classes of 6, so going on the idea that they needed a few guys to fill up some prop runs, thats probably why they're in class.

Another is starting Mon 5/12
