just cuirious as to why they post mins so low. isnt there 135 mins that must be met? false hope i guess

SIC Program

There is an SIC program at Airnet where you go through the same training as those who meet the PIC minimums and take a 135 SIC checkride and then you head out into the system and build time until you qualify to be a PIC. In my class of four, two of us met the PIC times and the other two were to be SIC's for a couple of months- but both of them were right around 1100 hours. I guess it's possible to get an interview at 500 hours, but 900-1100 would be more likely to be competitive. If you're interested in coming to Airnet just put in an application online and update it every month or so and you'll get the call when they're ready for you. Craig really likes seeing people who are motivated to work at Airnet, so the more consistent trail of applications you have the more likely you are to get a call.

YES YOU CAN INTERVIEW WITH THAT, AND GET THE JOB!!! I have no idea where idratherfly got his info from. I was hired with under 500tt and spent 8 months in the sic program. Now realize they do "prefer" you to have times closer to pic mins so that you can upgrade faster...and they seem to prefer Instructors for some crazy reason.

I would suggest what milehigh said, put in an app and keep updating often!

Where are SIC based at?

I think the chief pilot decides that, based on your wishes and his choice/need.

What is the pay for SIC with Airnet?? Any benefits??

It's been a while since I last looked at that........ But when I got on with AirNet it was around $13,000 a year and like everybody else after 30 days you get benefits.

SIC's are usually placed in CMH for ease of use when needed...also they will put you on the highest time runs to build your time faster to meet the mins.

Pay now is $16,000 i believe...

SICs if they need more than like 50-75 hours will not be based in CMH. Those runs are dedicated for IOE's. As an SIC you will be given a list of runs that are baron only to choose from. The bases may range from BDL, TEB, BHM, CPS (maybe more, i don't know).

Pay depends on how much you fly. SIC's are encouraged to fly as much as possible to get their 135mins, so most fly a 5th night. I know a prop SIC who flew 175 hours last month ($$$$+++).

I was an SIC a few years ago and unless they've changed things, you can really earn a lot of money doing this. You can fly 7 nights a week and as many hours as you can fit into a month. You can also earn overtime which can make it possible to earn more money as an SIC than as a PIC when you upgrade. It's a great gig if you can get in. Apply and then call Craig Washka (if he's still in charge of hiring) at least once a month to let him know your current hours and that you can't wait to work there. He eats that sh!t up. Good luck and I wish Airnet guys the best. I hope it's still around for a long time.

$13,000 -$16,000/yr.

And they have people beating down the door to take a job for that. Any wonder this industry has entered a death spiral from which it will NEVER recover?

If you read the previous posts you would see that it is only temporary. Only 3-4 months at the longest. After that, the pay WELL excedes that at any regional.

Yank, I think you kinda get the wrong impression for the 13-16K per year. Thats as a Baron SIC, which really isnt required, right? First year pay for a Baron PIC is 24K. I've only known of a handful of pilots that were SICs for an entire year, so as soon as you pass your 135 PIC checkride then you're looking at a base at around 24K. Most 135 companies that have an SIC ride along program have pilots pay to fill the seat, instead AirNet pays you... so for the people that do not want to flight instruct until 1200 hours can now get real time flying in a night 135 environment.

Downward spiral huh? I guess its better than paying $9,000 to interview.
G'day buddy

I didn't pay a cent to interview.

But if you feel the need to defend the incredibly low pay that permeates this industry, then I am truly pissin' in the wind here.

G'day is right.
