Just curious about where new hires mostly get based after training. I'm currently living in Northern Kentucky and have started looking to buy a place to live with my finance`. After training what would be the possibility that I could get the KLUK (Cincinnati) base? I currently have 980TT 56ME Thanks for any advise/suggestion/comments
 
use the search function. it's all there. after training there is a fairly good chance teb will be open. after a few months and you have seniority you can hope that luk comes open. right now it is fairly senior, but it all depends on who leaves/upgrades and what is on the bid sheet. there are now only 2 prop runs there. both navajo. my advice. if you are looking to come to airnet. for the first few years, rent.
 
you have to be at your base 10 hours before your flight. most runs are mon-thurs 9pm - 5am. some have fridays and some are weekend runs. there are a few day runs also. commuting is not really an option. if you have a floater schedule. 8 on 6 off, then it is possible, but you would need a crashpad where you are based as a floater. but on a scheduled run, nope. this has all been talked about in the past. search for more info.
 
would be kinda hard to rent my fiance` and I are in the process of getting a place to live here in Northern Kentucky

Did Airnet ask you to come to work for them or did you initiate the situation? It doesn't matter where they want you to work and/or live. IF you want the job with them then you go where they tell you to go. And with less than a 1,000 hours total time, you are not "God's gift" to Airnet. Tell Ms. Fiance that her future husband is going to get his first lesson in working for a living...doing what the boss wants. And if that means you do not live in Kentucky, then you either move or turn down the job. You should be immersing your thoughts into your up-coming training, not chatting on some free web-site asking questions that have been answered hundreds of time on this forum already. Get your attitude right, boy. Be thankful you have the opportunity to train and fly for Airnet and go build some seniority.
 
Dude, don't listen to these guys. If you want to commute do it, it's no big deal, just make sure you get there, because missing your scheduled departure due to you not being able to get out of your home city on an airline is inexcusible (and punishable by death...ok so maybe not death).

I used to live in Dallas and fly out of Houston and i would always catch the last flight of the night from DAL to HOU and just drive right over to the FBO and jump in the plane and go...NEVER a problem...now if the weather was bad i would catch a flight earlier in the day just to give myself a little cushion. That 10 hours in base is a generic form of saying you must have 10 hrs rest before your flight, and there is absolutely nothing that says your commercial flight into your base is not rest, in fact it is rest because you are not flying on the company dollar. The 10 hours was a way for Airnet to try to make sure that a pilot would never miss their departures due to a commute, and there is no way leaglly they can uphold making you be there for 10 hours prior. Now on the flip side, they could fire you if they found out you were not adhering to their in house rule of 10 hours prior...so if you do commute keep it quiet about your arrival times in base...besides, they can't lagally ask you anyway...not like they can scope your house to make sure you are there or anything.

Get your house in Kentucky and do what you need to do, just realize that you will also need a crashpad when you commute, and you will also be spending MUCH less time with the fiancee or new wife (they don't always like that, so you may want to reconsider commuting if you cherish your marriage and personal life).

Just do what you need to do, just make sure you NEVER miss that departure.
 
I just applied to airnets today. Im looking for a little feedback as to whether these sound like competitve times. 1130tt, 40 twin, 800 dual given??? I have an MEI also.
 
Do they have an SIC program? I would use the search but im at work and dont have the time to look it up right now. Thanks.
