I am starting class for airnet in a week and am wondering what I need to bring to class? I know to bring all my certificates and passport and all but mainly I would like to know what type of flight bag and what is needed for the baron? I fly for a regional now so I have a large rolling flight bag but I am sure that is gonna be too much. Should I use the old flight gear instructing bag?

Also what does airnet give you for uniform and when in training do you get them? Don't want to bring a lot of un needed clothes.

Thanks guys

I think they give you something that tells what to bring to class. You really don't need much. I brought kneeboards and flight computers and my flight bag. I didn't use any of them. You kneed something to carry alot of books. Bring a spiral notebook to take notes. Bring a FAR/AIM and some stuff to relax with. Airnet gives you no uniform for training. Collared shirts like a polo is the norm. Your instructor will be wearing a dress shirt and pants so they dress a little more professional then us bums on the line. Bring your rolling flight bag. Thats what I use on the line cuz I'm lazy and its easier then carrying a bag. Good luck.

all you need at training is a headset, flashlight, and a ball cap (used as a view limiting device). you won't need a flightbag until you get on the line. and if you get a reserve spot you're going to need that big flight bag. you will have to lug the charts for most of the country around with you.

as for uniform, you won't get anything until about a month after you pass your checkride. during training you wear your own clothes. if you want to blend in, i recommend dark polo shirts and jeans (that is our official uniform).

As far as materials go Airnet will provide you with everything you need. They even provided my class with FAR/AIMs. Your rolling bag will be great as you will have Ops Specs and a Company Manual to carry along with a Jepp manual and approach charts.

I don't know if you're driving to LCK or riding the system. If you can swing driving it I would. I drove 12 hrs from OK and would not do it differently. Having my car there was fantastic. Plus it let me load up a lot of stuff to take with me (plenty of clothes, computer, guitar, golfclubs, etc). You're there for at least a month and once you start in the sims you only go four nights per week. Make sure you have something to get your mind off of training for a`bit.
