Anyone know what the medical benefits are at Airnet? 60 days after fist day of training or end onf training? How about spouce?

Basically I need to know whether or not to purchase coba benefits from my current employer or major medical for a few months.

Benefits start 60 days after you pass your checkride, starting the 1st day of the next month. Let me explain: You pass your checkride February 28th, 60 days from that is April 28th. So, your benefits start May 1st. Easy right?

Benefits consist of Cigna PPO+ plan...any doctor anytime anywhere... just try getting the docs to do the anytime part right:p ;) :p

Dental, vision so on so forth...pretty common for air carriers

The countdown starts after your checkride, because i believe we still do not consider you an employee until you pass your checkride. That may have changed now that they assign people an A/C and base before going to class...i really do not know on that one. Spouse is covered with same benefits, just double your paycheck deduction(something close to that at least).

If you feel like you might need it during the trainng phase and the 60 day waiting period then by all means purchase some. Cobra is crazy expensive, and you could probably go to BLue Cross Blue Sheild and get it for much much cheaper for the time necessary.

Did you get an offer from us? If so, congrats!!! Upgrade time is coming down quick for the right seat of the lears. No more 2.5 to 3 years...it should be around 1.5-2 years. It will come down even more here in a few months... lots of attrition when the LCC's (read that as Southwest) start hiring our lear capts. I know close to 12 guys who are going to interview shortly, i don't think any of them will have a problem getting the job.
