I am not sure if anyone has experienced this before, but today, while up with a student, we came across a conversation on a practice area frequency that our school uses by two different flight crews. Where we fly is fairly remote, so we weren't sure if this was a common practice between commercial airliners from the same company to communicate between each other outside of their dispatchers. I guess it goes to show that you should be careful because you never know just who might be listening....

What frequency was it? Most crews use 123.45 or 123.47.

122.75...i know that most airliners or general aviation will use 123.45 as air to air. This particular airline was up in Canada at the time, so things are probably a little different than the lower 48...

We use to talk air to air all the time. If you're not in range of a departure or arrival airport, the number 2 radio is doing nothing and talking helps pass the time by.
