hey guys, been out for a few months. i know after 90 days you have to go in the sim for 3 bounces. when does that 3 bounce requirement end, and more training required. if anyone has a timeline on how it works or a websie to checkout, it would be helpful and take the edge off. thanks everyone.

I don't think that this directly addressed in any reg. Depending on your airline, the quality of their training dept, how long you've been out, and the medical reason behind it, you may be looking at three bounces, or you may be looking at full recurrent with a proficiency check.

Just ask your training dept. Hey, what I'm I looking at, requalwise, to get back out on the line?

I have a little experience in this one. My understanding is that if you are 90 days to 6 months, it's the 3 bounces, instrument appch, v1 cut, visual appch. They have a standardized syllabus they follow with the minimum requirements. If you go past 6 months and have missed a training event, then it's a little more involved, like a Pro check.

Ask someone in your training dept.

I had to have double lens implant surgery in both eyes. I was out several months. When I returned, I was given full recurrent and an additional sim for being rusty, and also to see how my vision would be in the dark. (Although it felt wierd looking through glasses). I looked like I was looking through a window. Other than that, no problems, just have to wear specs.

where u out for 6 months? I just hope that i dont have to go sit through 2 weeks of ground school. and 6 sims. I've gotten a few different answers but going through recurrent 3 days and PC seems to be the most consistent......thanks

I'm in a similar situation. I got lucky (if losing your medical is lucky) and was awarded transition training before my leave. I have 6 wks of class to look forward to upon return.
