On Wed., March 8th, we were monitoring 121.5 when someone came on broadcasting a mayday, saying that he had lost his windshield. He was over MVA and trying to make it to KTPH. After a while he seemed to settle down and things looked like they were going to work out. We listened for as long as we could, but flew out of range. Does anybody know if he made it ok?

Any idea what kind of aircraft it was, and about what time you heard the transmission?

That's gotta scare the life outta you - I've hit an owl right infront of me that cracked the windshield on climb out, but never had one implode!
