Good for him. I am jealous. Oh well, I still have a year to catch up. :)

Yeah, but the scab probably flies for 90 seat wages. He probably tells chicks that he flies for British Airways, when in fact it's an "express" airline (GB Airways). Scab.
It's a perpetual race to the bottom.

An "Express" airline flying A320s??? Err wait.. thats what airline mgmt here in the US wants.. :uzi:

Why does age matter ??

Guys the culture over there is 100 times different than here in the US. Besides I upgraded here in the US on my 23rd birthday and took my ATP at the same time I did my type as I am sure some of you did too. Guys we have 24 and 25 year old guys and girls taking command of Cutters in the coast guard as well. I wish that all of you inmature people would get off this age kick. Oh my gosh, he is a responsible 25 year old who made things happen in his career and now he is flying an Airbus. I have this to say, He deserves it!! just like any of us who have or will travel that road deserve it as well.

Am I the only one who noticed this guy's name? LMAO!!!! Peter Gibbons. Nice.... Uh, Yeah... Were gonna need you to come in on Saturday... That would be great. Oh, Oh... I almost forgot....

Peter... Whats happening?
Beautiful.

I just went and popped in my copy to be sure, I couldnt believe it.
Peter Gibbons driving the 'Bus, a sign of the apocalypse??

no college degree required, see if you want to be a pilot you fly airplanes. Experience wins over the degree in this case.

"working outside, making bucks"

"fucking A"

"FUCKin...A"...fade to black.---Office Space

He doesn't look like his testicles have descended yet...but hey, chicks dig bus captains.

Mookie

Well I find airbus captain at 25 to be an eye catcher for me. But that is considering how things usually work in the US: 4 year degree/build ratings, flight instruct for usually at least a year, possibly fly freight for a 135 company, then go to a regional and work there at least 3 years. Log around 1000 PIC plus or minus, then get hired at the airbus job, then fly at least 1000 hours in the right seat of the airbus, then when your seniority holds it, upgrade. All by 25? Very hard in the US. You are lucky to do this by 35 or 45 with some of the airlines here.

yeah but yip - SOMEONE along the lines went to college to front the 150K this total jackoff paid to get his "job"...

see, college is still required.

experience didnt win anything, 150K did.

G200 where in the article did the $150K come up? Besides he is still further ahead than he would if he had spent $100K on a 4-yr aviation college and started his first flying job at age 22..

oh yeah? whats he going to do when he has no Airbi to fly? no degree? (didnt need it right?)

sounds like a gamble to me!

ANY degree is worth a lot more than an Airbus rating...no matter WHAT its in.

same old tired ass arguement Yip.

maybe its just me, but those stupid "stand in front of your airliner" pictures promoting PFT dip$hit outfits never did it for me. Its not impressive....all the way back to the dumb FSI ads for Vaulejet, ASA, etc....

"look what Johnny did"....(he borrwed 25K from mom) lame. Like thats an accomplishment.

That is kinda funny when you put it that way.

How old's the youngest Airbus CA in the states? 45?
No, there are some guys in their late 20s and early 30 over at JB. Saw him on Carson Daly about a year ago when he flew the show's crew to the left coast, and they were clowning him for being so young.

$25K from mom is probably a better deal than $100K from the college loan dept.
The fall back value of a college degree is greatly over rated.

Especially in the UK. Degrees aren't required for airline positions. You can still get by quite well with just a high school education.

I bet he complains a lot, too.

Yeah, if he had an aviation degree from Riddle at least if he lost his flying abilities he could........well......fuel the airplanes I guess.

Yeah, and I bet he has business cards that read

HAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA!!!! Well said my boy, well said!!

ahh...envy and jealousy, the two most common traits of a pilot career, besides low wages and furloughs.

Airbus Captain at age 25? who cares....I am sure if a 12 year old could pay Gulfstream XXXX thousands, we would have a 12-year old 1900 Captain. Whoop-dee-do.

That guy should make Airbus Captain when he hits 25
