Weren't you excited about Mesaba earlier, too? http://forums.flightinfo.com/showthread.php?t=55445

Either way, good luck to you.

yeah.... I just like researching before I start throwing resumes out.. I really like Mesaba.. doesnt hurt to have a back up plan... who says either one will be hiring when my contract is up... time to roll the dice....

Amen to that. But given the state of the regional industry, I might suggest a backup to the backup plan and perhaps even a non-flying backup plan, too.

Plan on PHL or DCA as a base, right now no one knows what will be senior/junior as the entire pilot group will be displaced in the next 6 months or so. Since we are moving from UAL to USAir, schedules and commutability are big question marks.

Upgrade? It is currently around 4 years, but with no delveries planned, about 400-500 people senior to you will have to leave before you see the left seat. Attrition right now is about 20 a month, which is a pretty high rate.

The future is murky here to say the least. If you are a cfi or have a crappy job, why not give it a try? Overall, it is not a bad place to work.

you said it

Yeah, going today to open a scottrader account.... day trader by day..... sick kid flyer by night.... thats life..... thanks for all the help... insight is priceless.

posted this on the other Air Wis link......figured I'd put it here as well since it's the latest:

Lastest bid position sheet now has DCA and PHL on it......a realignment including PHL is due to come out in the next few days, they are still waiting for more info before they open DCA (probably in regards to how many crews they will need there). Reserve F/O and Line holder F/O are considered two different positions.......with that in mind I would anticipate that a new hire would probably find themselves with a reserve position in PHL to start since I doubt anyone will be bidding into it and positions in IAD and ORD will probably stop being backfilled......with classes still scheduled throughout the summer you would probabaly be able to switch that to DCA or the 3rd mystery base when that comes out. Good Luck....looks like things are finally starting to be revealed to us all.....the AWAC way..........cautiously (slowly). =) AD

I was called for an interview this week and was told upgrade could be up to 8 years.

Well at least they didn't try to cover up that fact that it could be a long upgrade. I would say 3-4 we are losing pilots left and right and we haven't even started the move to us air. As always there is talk of the crj-900 but who knows.
