Are the fates of UAL and Air Wisconsin tied directly (that is if UAL tanks - Air Wis tanks) or is Air Wisconsin likely to get more routes in the near future?

How is the mood at UAL affecting the mood at Air Wisconsin (if at all).

AWAC is behaving very conservatively for the time being. I think this is a good thing so they are not over extended in case UAL goes belly up. If a large company like UAL stops flying there will lots of airlines (vultures) around to pick up the business. After a short term loss I would roll the dice in favor of AWAC picking up long term business after a UAL liquidation. AWAC would do well to get into the feeder business with other airlines prior to a UAL liquidation though.

Like anything else it comes down to price. Air Wis needs to be able to offer lift at a competitive price to have a shot at getting any more growth. The fact that Air Wis pays well doesn't help from that standpoint.

Practically speaking, Air Wis and UAL are joined at the hip. If UAL goes down, Air Wis will face quite a challenge. However, UAL is unlikely to go down.

When we do not learn from history, it tends to repeat itself.

I remember when Air Winsconsin was a great small airline; then United bought them.

I remember when Comair was a great small airline; then Delta bought them.

Kismet!

Do you also remember when United sold Air Wisconsin?
