Just checking out old aviationinterviews...if we are really dipping THIS low I am shocked:

May 17,2006 interview
TT 410!
PIC 232!!
Turbine 0
Multi 128
Walked in NO
Class date July 1, 2006

Now Im not saying the guy/gal is not qualified but wow, just wow and if that is fact no one should be applying at Mesa ever

I hope that isn't accurate. I've had my stuff in there for quite some time and haven't gotten called. I'm furloughed 121 too.

Will they hire military guys under 1000tt or just the bridge program types?

Nope, time flying faster than mach 1 while getting shot at in a foreign country just isn't as good as dropping 25 grand to learn how to be a chimp.....sorry.:pimp:

I guess it's the 128 ME time that impressed AW. I've yet to hear back with my measley hours. Then again, I doubt CAPT ever sent them my resume which they said they did. Oh well...

Yes that's true. I know of one kid with only 500 hrs, rich daddy bought a CRJ type, and had a recent DUI that got hired. Also know lots of 121 guys with stellar resume's that didn't. I guess hiring people who can't get a job any where else is their work around for not having a training contract.

And to think there used to be a pilot when you had to have at least 2000 TT, 1000 ME, and 500 Turbine to even be considered there at AWAC

Gotta love how MESA and BENDOVER-JETZ are poisining the industry!!!

But at least our "Hard Work Isn't Going Un-Noticed!" or so we are told. Has everyone gotten their free coasters???

I can't believe a good airline like Air Whiskey is turning into every other regional. WTF is up with rich wonderboys? Another riddle, purdue or und grad I assume???

OK, I'll say it.

This isn't the first with these times to get hired in last few months. Flew with a Capt a few weeks back whose first question to me was "Do you have more than 500 hrs? Because the last few FOs I've flown with have had less than that after IOE." Needless to say he was relieved when I told him I didn't fall into that category. Furthermore, he did confirm that one of those "wonder FOs" was in fact the son of a fairly "high-ranking" manager...yes, provocative...

At least the rumor regarding "it's who you know" in the industry is true.

Oh, any chance this could be a hoax or a lie? July 1st is a Sat. IMHO, I don't think this guy/gal knows his/her class date if he/she even has one...

For a while they were giving guys who did training at CAE in Denver interviews. Some have got hired a few were let go. In recent months they did hire folks with low time and no CAE $hit. I have heard that no one wanted to work here. Find that hard to believe since I have been recommending somone with alot of experience who did not get called. No one ever paid AWAC for a job though.

Hey! Can it with the rich Riddle wonderboy crap. Yah, it struck a nerve. I went to Riddle and had 3,400 hours when I got to AWAC. I payed my ********************ing dues. Been homeless twice getting my time before applying. Not everyone who comes to AWAC has low time and not everyone with low time who gets in here went to a university. I just happened to fly with one of our low timers and he was way better than a lot of high time FOs. And yah, we had a bit of an emergency at the time and he did great.

Man, I'm so sick of this university program bashing. Is there ANY training place that is acceptable to the masses? Doubt it. I don't go around bashing people who got training at part 61 schools. Man, we all work in the same environment and have to do the same job. Some people choose one path, some choose another.

I guess it's something I'll just have to get used to seeing on this forum. Doubt it will ever go away when one group just loves to bash another group just because it's another group. Sad really.

Flame away.

I happen to know who you are talking about and I've flown with him several times. I have found him to be a very good FO who is knowledgable, attentive, open to suggestion and situationally aware. Can't really ask much more of someone than that. And yes, he's ok in an emergency. I happen have had one with him as my FO and he did great.

As far as the comments about high timers with experience not getting the job, isn't it possible they aren't the most economical candiadate as they will be more likely to leave before the company can break even. Better to hire someone who doesn't have close to the mins. for a better job.

THANK YOU!!! and im not defending because i was a low timer when i started...because i wasnt...it is entirley possible that there are people on the face of Gods green earth that can handle the almighty CRJ or ERJ with 4 or 500 hours....it is also entirley possible that the people in the training departments of these carriers sees these applicants as being capable people and hires them. WOW! I went to the bastard step child University of Purdue and know that the training program there is specifically structured so a majority of the students are in a qualified when they graduate....i wasnt as lucky....what do you expect..should the FAA mandate an FAR that all graduates of Accredited Aviation Universirty's have to Flight Instruct for a minimum of 2000 hours before they can even clean the toilets on an RJ???gimme a break..theres more important crap to deal with right now in the industry than stupid crap like this...go ahead flame away....

I agree about the university bashing, DD. For the record, we had Purdue, UND, Ohio State, ERAU-D, WMU, UM-Mankato, Henderson State, & Dubuque grads represented in my newhire class, and those are just the ones I remember.

I can't believe somebody would pay more for a friggin' type rating they can't use than their first year W2, and I certainly can't condone it, but if they've got the means to afford it more power to them. Company must not be expecting these CAE guys to upgrade anytime soon or they'd have looked for more total flight time, IMO.

*break*

Marine Grunt,

Yes they will hire guys with high-quality military time under 1000tt, especially when it is heavy time. Good luck if you apply!

Thanks bro. Now they just need to get some bases in WI again and I'm in!!! :)

If the wishful thinking crowd's dreams come true, we will soon enough.

A couple guys I used to work with were stationed in El Toro when Heartbreak Ridge was filmed, all had good things to say about ol' Clint. They also liked the movie:cool:

Yeah, part of it was filmed at Camp Talega (in Camp Pendelton). We stayed in one of the old quonset huts that they used during filming.

"That 1400 hours for all of you that don't HABLA."

Didn't mean to impune that FO's performance as I have no idea who he is. Heresay or not, this captain did fly with him and had other thoughts as to his performance. Nonetheless, given your experience with the FO, I am glad he's on our team. Glad it all worked out well. Cheers.

Yeah, when that FMS goes out it can be a bear. I am glad you all got down safely. Was the media there?
